Introduced when [Tax Nuggets 2.0 launched in November 2025](https://taxnuggetsacademy.com.au/news/tax-nuggets-academy-2-0#:~:text=Teams created before 27 October 2025 will receive a temporary free Organisation Owner seat.), the Team Owner role replaced the now-retired Team Manager role. Unlike the legacy Team Manager role, the current Team Owner can consume CPD content, which is why it will become a payable seat after 20 March 2026.

To ensure a smooth transition from Tax Nuggets 1.0 to 2.0 last year, we temporarily made the Team Owner seat free for all Team accounts created before 27 October 2025.

Nominate a new Team Owner, and remove the legacy Team Manager

The two-part process will assign a new Team Owner, and remove the legacy Team Manager details, preventing additional charges after 20 March 2026.

Part 1: Transfer ownership

  1. Sign-in using the **legacy Team Manager ****account details
  2. On the top right menu, click the circle with your initial > Members
  3. Find the new Team Owner in the list, and click the 3 dots > Transfer ownership

  1. Confirm owner transfer by clicking Transfer Ownership

Each user will be notified via email of the changes, and the Owner badge will be shown against the new Team Owner

Part 2: Deactivate legacy Team Manager

  1. Sign out of the legacy Team Manager account (for example [email protected])
  2. Then sign in using the newly assigned Team Owner (for example: [email protected])
  3. Click the circle with your initial > Members
  4. Click the 3 dots next to the legacy user (eg [email protected] )
  5. Click Deactivate member
